INSIDE: Savour Green Bay

by Jeff Flynt

For the third summer in a row, downtown Green Bay will host Savour Green Bay.

Earlier this month, I told you about the larger area and VIP access to the demonstrations for Savour.

Here are some more details:

  • Savour Green Bay is FREE to attend. It runs on Friday June 21 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday June 22 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • FREE parking is available in all downtown city ramps, lots and streets.
  • All food and beverage items are available for cash purchase at restaurant, winery and brewery tents. Prices will range from $2 to $10.

Executive Director Tina Quigley tells me that the serving size of the food ranges from 3 to 5 oz.

"It's larger than just a sample, but smaller than an entire meal. So people can definitely come prepared to try different foods," Quigley says.

The cooking demonstrations are FREE to attend also. However, the Prevea Pavilion offers a number of Tasting Ticket packages.

The list of demos is complete. Quigley says the most intriguing belongs to Chef Chris Mangless.

"The mystery is that he doesn't commit to what his actual demonstration is gonna be until he hits the local farmer's market and sees what's available and fresh," says Quigley. "Then he'll create his dish based on that. That really goes after what this event is really about."

Quigley would not commit to which demos or restaurants she was most looking forward to. She says she thinks they're all great and can't wait to get the event started.

Here's a list of selections from restaurants, wineries and breweries for Savour.
