SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Crimestoppers and the Better Business Bureau are offering a document shredding Saturday, April 20, in Sioux Falls.
Branch Manager Jessie Schmidt says the Bureau works to prevent crinmes against consumers.
Schmidt says sensitive documents can blow around the city landfill or someone can dig them out of your garbage. She says bring bank statements, cancelled checks, credit card statements, old tax returns, investment acount statements or anything that has your social security number on it. She says you can help prevent being a victim of identity theft.
Schmidt says there is no charge for shredding but a five dollar donation, per box, is suggested for Crimestoppers.
The shred event is Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at the MinnWest Bank parking lot at Louise and 57th or at the Shopko parking lot at 10th and Sycamore.
