SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Crews are making progress in removing storm debris from Sioux Falls city parks, golf courses and ball diamonds.
Parks and Recreation Director Don Kearney says most of the city parks are closed but some are open and a list is available on the city’s website, Operation Timber Strike!
Kearney says it’s going to be some time before crews will get to the interiors of most city parks. He says until the ground drys out they won't be able to get vehicles or machinery into the center of parks. He says the forecast calls for strong southerly winds tomorrow and dry weather through the weekend.
Kearney says the arborist contractor will soon begin removing hangers from the perimeters of larger city parks.
