SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The City finished the first pass of the neighborhood branch cleanup and the second run gets underway today.
Director of Public Works Mark Cotter says the pickup will go faster if residents comply with some standards.
Cotter asks that branch piles be consolidated, cut branches to eight feet or less and place them between the sidewalk and the curb. He says there are limitations on how far the Ceres trucks can reach and they don't want to come onto private property. DO NOT park in front of branch piles, take every means that exists to avoid parking next to one.
Meanwhile…more City parks are opening and you can see those at the Operation Timber Strike! website.
Parks Director Don Kearney says the Covell Lake and Elmwood Park ball fields are open. He says the goal for Friday is to have all the spring sports' complexes open. Those baseball, softball and soccer complxes should be ready to go for the weekend.
The five branch drop-off sites are open seven days a week from seven to seven.
