SIOUX FALLS, S.D (KELO AM) - Governor Dennis Daugaard says South Dakota’s gross state product is a little over 40 billion dollars and agriculture provides 21 billion dollars of that total.
Daugaard says just about everybody in the state is impacted by our ag economy.
He recently traveled to China with a trade delegation promoting South Dakota crops. He says South Dakota send a tremendous amount of food and ag production to China. He says 30% percent of the state's soybean crop ends up in China, so they're very interested in what we produce for food.
Daugaard says the delegation included manufacturers of both food and machinery, along with corn, soybean and pork producers.
