SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWSN) - Augustana football announced its 2013 schedule on Wednesday. The 2013 schedule features 11 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contests, six of which will be played at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.

Augustana opens the season with four opponents from the NSIC North Division.

Head coach Jerry Olszewski will lead the Vikings on to the field for the first time when Augustana opens the season against MSU Moorhead on Sept. 7 at Kirkeby-Over Stadium. The season/home opener is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

In its first road game of the season, Augustana travels to Minot, N.D. to take on Minot State University for the first time in school history on Sept. 14.

The Vikings return home on Sept. 21 to host Bemidji State University at 1 p.m. In the last meeting, Bemidji State stunned Augustana 30-27 in overtime at Kirkeby-Over Stadium on Sept. 10, 2011.

It's back to the road on Sept. 28 at St. Cloud State. The Vikings and the Huskies last met on Sept. 4, 2010, a 32-23 victory for the Vikings in Sioux Falls.

In the first NSIC South Division clash of the season, Augustana hosts Wayne State on Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. The Vikings lost 31-27 at Wayne State last season.

Augustana will then travel to Mankato, Minn. on Oct. 12 to take on Minnesota State at Blakeslee Stadium. Minnesota State defeated Augustana 52-14 last season in Sioux Falls.

Augustana returns to Kirkeby-Over Stadium Oct. 19 for the “Viking Days” clash with Upper Iowa at 1 p.m. A year ago, Augustana scored 49 unanswered points in the first half earning a 66-20 victory over the Peacocks in Fayette.

On Oct. 26, Augustana will stay in Sioux Falls but not at Kirkeby-Over Stadium. The Vikings will take on the University of Sioux Falls at Bob Young Field in the second annual “Key to the City” game. The two teams met for the first time since 1986 last season and USF snuck out of Kirkeby-Over Stadium with a 32-31 overtime win over the Vikings.

The Vikings will then welcome Concordia-St. Paul to Kirkeby-Over Stadium on Nov. 2, for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Augustana took down the Golden Bears 35-27 on the road in 2012.

In its final road game of the regular season, Augustana will take on Winona State on Nov. 9 in Winona, Minn. The Warriors defeated Augustana 73-35 in the Vikings' season finale last season.

Augustana closes-out the regular season at home on Nov. 16 against Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. The Vikings snuck out of Marshall with a 38-35 win over the Mustangs in the 2012 season finale.
