WASHINGTON, D.C. (KDAL) - The Twins held on to beat the Washington Nationals 4-3 in 11 innings yesterday in Washington, D.C. It was the team's first trip to the nation's capital in 42 years. Ryan Doumit continued to be the Twins' hottest hitter with a go-ahead single in the top of the 11th and Glen Perkins finished the Nationals off to record his 13th save. Joe Mauer notched his 100th career home run off National's starter Gio Gonzalez to go along with a single, a double and a walk. Kevin Correia went 6 1/3 solid innings while recording seven strikeouts. The teams have a twin-bill today, starting at 12:35 when Scott Diamond will take the mound against potential All Star Jordan Zimmerman.
