SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Trent woman is charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly raised a pistol to the face of a female victim at a Sioux Falls house party last weekend.
Sargeant Josh Disburg says 21-year-old Chastity Sharp and the victim, a 22-year-old woman from Dell Rapids, got into a fight over drinking and driving.
Disburg says Sharp allegedly produced a handgun and the women began fighting. He says the victim managed to briefly get the gun away from Sharp but, during the scuffle, Sharp got it back and then grabbed the victim by the throat.
He says the women separated and Sharp got into a car driven by 20-year-old Christopher Furness of Colton. A MInnehaha County Sheriff's Deputy stopped Furness on the Renner exit on I-29 and arrested him for driving while intoxicated.
Disburg says Sharp was taken to the jail and also charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
