SIOUX FALLS, SD (KWSN)- Since arriving in Minnesota, Rick Spielman has taken his share of criticism, but has also stabilized the erratic draft history of the team (see Williamson, Troy and Underwood, Dimitrius). He traded several picks for Jared Allen in 2008, and had good fortune and waited patiently as Adrian Peterson (#7, 2007) and Percy Harvin (#22, 2009) fell into his lap.
More recently, he’s been lauded for grabbing Left Tackle Matt Kalil with the fourth overall pick in 2012, and was able to jump back in and get Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith (#29). This year the Vikings became the first team since the 2001 St. Louis Rams to get three first round picks in Florida DT Shariff Floyd, Florida St. CB Xavier Rhodes and Tenn. WR Cordarrelle Patterson. The Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman joined Sports Talk with Craig and Chris Tuesday to review and discuss what may be next for the team.
