SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) – Due to technical issues, Xcel Energy is postponing the planned power line work on Interstate 29, about one-half mile north of Exit 73 (the Tea exit), until Monday (5/13) starting at 2 a.m.
A short-duration, full closure of both the north and southbound lanes of I-29 is planned at 2:30 a.m. so that Xcel Energy can pull electrical conductors across the interstate. The conductors were damaged during the recent ice storm.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on I-29 at Exit 73 on Monday (May 13) between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, May 14, Interstate 29 will again be reduced to one lane in each direction at Exit 73 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
