Pedestrian Bridge Installation is the “Cherry on Top” at Cherry Lake Reserve

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) – One of the most exceptional new neighborhoods to enter the Sioux Falls marketplace is about to get a little more exciting. An eighty foot pedestrian bridge will be installed over the lake at Cherry Lake Reserve on October 22, providing the gateway to the beach, playground, shelters, fishing holes and the nearly one mile bike path that will be part of the neighborhood.

The bridge installation will occur between 2:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22 and the public is invited to watch the crane do the job.

“It’s not often you get to see a crane set a bridge,” says Steve Van Buskirk, one of the developers behind the Cherry Lake Reserve project. “It’s going to be a landmark for this spectacular neighborhood. Streets are paved and homes are under construction so there is a lot of momentum right now. The pedestrian bridge over the lake is one of the unique aspects of the neighborhood. We are excited about its completions.

Cherry Lake Reserve is located near the intersection of 12th Street and the Tea-Ellis Road on the west side of Sioux Falls. The neighborhood features a crystal clear, groundwater fed, 35-acre lake with 26 home sites backing up to the water and another 144 home sites with views and access to the lake.  Eleven of the home sites have been sold and construction of the new homes has begun.

The neighborhood will feature many amenities including a swim beach, walking trails, picnic areas, wildlife, fishing and scenic views. It is being developed by Van Buskirk Companies of Sioux Falls in conjunction with Soukup Construction. For more information, contact Ryan Jansa at Van Buskirk Companies by phone (605) 361-8211 or via email info@vbclink.com.

To get to the bridge site go west of Ellis on 12th Street for one half mile and turn north on Cherry Lake Drive which will take you right down to the beach. Refreshments will be served.
