VERMILLION, S.D. (KWSN)—University of South Dakota freshman forward Jamie Karch (Germantown, Wis.) has been named the Summit League’s Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the period ended Sept. 2.
Karch scored two goals and had an assist to lead the Coyotes (2-1-1) to a pair of road wins last week. In Friday’s 2-1 overtime victory against Wyoming, Karch scored her first collegiate goal in the ninth minute of the overtime period, handing the Cowgirls their first loss of the season. She also earned her first career assist on Makena Cameron’s goal in the 71st minute of the match.
Karch’s second goal of the week came in USD’s 3-0 win against Colorado-Colorado Springs Sunday. Karch came off the bench in both games and totaled 82 minutes of action.
South Dakota resumes play in Brookings, S.D. this week. The Coyotes take on Northern Illinois at 3 p.m. Friday (Sept. 6) and Nevada at 10 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 8).
