LAKE ELMO, Minn. (KWSN)– Augustana finished second at the Concordia Invite at Tartan Park Golf Course in Lake Elmo, Minn. shooting a 55-over 631 in the 36-hole tournament. The Vikings shaved seven strokes off their first round score of 319, shooting a 312 this afternoon. Central Oklahoma held on to its first day lead to with the team title at 32-over-par 608 (301-307).
Central Oklahoma had the top two finishers, including medalist Bethany Darrough, who fired a one-over-par 73 in both rounds to finish at two-over-par 146 for the tournament. Taylor Neidy placed second at seven-over-par 151 (75-76).Marisa Toivonen made a huge jump up the individual leaderboard on Monday, moving up 35 spots to finish third overall. Toivonen was 13 strokes better than her round one score, shooting a one-under-par 71 on Monday.
Toivonen shot an 84 on Sunday, and finished third overall at 11-over-par 155.Three other players also finished at 11-over-par 155, including Maggie Leland, but Toivonen was awarded sole possession of third place with the lowest round two score of those players.
Leland shot a 76 in yesterday's round before firing a 79 on Monday.Allie Ostrander tied for 13th overall shooting a 15-over-par 159 (76-83). Jennifer Pederson and Jordan Bormann finished 21st and 22nd, respectively.Pederson finished the two-round tournament at 20-over-par 164 (84-80) while Bormann carded a 21-over-par 165 (83-82).
JoDee Wheeler and Katie Grevlos both competed as individuals for Augustana. Wheeler tied for 36th with a 25-over-par 169 (82-87) while Grevlos placed 60th at 35-over-par 179 (86-93).Augustana was the highest finisher out of 11 other NSIC schools competing at the Concordia Invite.The Vikings return to the course next Monday and Tuesday, competing in the Jackrabbit Invite at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls.
