Pierre, S.D. (KELO AM) – South Dakota voters now have a new, free-to-download, mobile application to help prepare them for all upcoming elections. The Vote605 mobile app is part of a more digital user-friendly initiative set in place by Secretary of State Jason Gant. “Vote605 is a comprehensive online voter tool with features to find out if they are registered to vote, map out their polling place, and view a sample of their ballot,” said Gant.
Voters, who download the app, may also enter their name into the system to access personalized data such as: party affiliation, county of registration, and your ward & precinct information. “The app is designed to provide a voter with information they need for verifying registration and viewing sample ballots for upcoming elections,” said Secretary Gant.
Secretary Gant further explains that the Vote605 application will be particularly useful in the June primary, and the November general elections because polling places may change throughout the state. “With the mapping function on Vote605 every voter will receive directions to their polling place,” Gant said.
The newly re-designed Secretary of State website is also available with information optimized for smaller screens like tablets and smartphones.
The mobile application is now available, and free to download through the Google Play Store, and the iTunes App Store. For more information, contact the office of the South Dakota Secretary of State at (605) 773-3537 or visit www.sdsos.gov.
