RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO-AM) - Corrections Secretary Denny Kaemingk is issuing a public notification about a registered sex offender who has absconded from parole supervision.
Noah Hero has failed to maintain contact with his parole agent in Rapid City, including missing an appointment on Jan. 7. He also failed to attend his most recent sex offender treatment session with his community treatment provider and was recently evicted from his residence and failed to notify law enforcement about his change of address.
Hero was convicted of second-degree rape out of Hughes County and sentenced to 15 years in prison on Oct. 29, 2001. He was paroled in June 2011.
Hero is a 61-year-old Native American. He is 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes and may be wearing glasses. Among Hero’s several tattoos are two teardrops in the corner of his left eye.
“With this offender’s criminal history, failure to continue with the required sex offender treatment and other violations of his parole supervision agreement, I believe it is prudent to issue a public notification just as we have done with other high-risk individuals who are released from prison when their sentence expires,” said Kaemingk.
Anyone who sees Hero or knows of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.
