PIERRE, S.D. (KELO-AM) – Nathan Jensen of Beresford, South Dakota, was appointed to the South Dakota Value-Added Finance Authority (VAFA) board by Gov. Dennis Daugaard this month.

Jensen serves as the chief financial officer for Meadowvale Dairy, LLC, a commercial dairy operation located between Canton and Rock Valley, Iowa. Previously, he spent 12 years in agribusiness lending with the Farm Credit System and a commercial bank.

“Being appointed to VAFA is an honor and I look forward to advising the state in developing our value-added agricultural industry,” said Jensen.

Jensen currently is a board member of the Central Plains Dairy Association, Watchdog Education Foundation, Beresford Economic Development Corporation, Governor’s Ag Advisory Committee and a member of Class VII South Dakota Ag and Rural Leadership Program.
