(WNFL)- There's a report that the Chicago Bears are interested in Green Bay free agent linebacker Mike Neal. The Chicago Tribune reports the development. If the Bears sign him, Neal could return to his former defensive end spot. The Bears released 34-year-old end Julius Peppers yesterday, and signed Oakland defensive end Lamarr Houston -- who's eight years younger than Peppers. A move to Chicago would put Neal closer to his hometown of Merrillville Indiana, about an hour's drive south of the Windy City. Neal, a fifth-year pro, had his best year the Packers in 2013 after he moved to outside linebacker. He dropped 25 pounds in preparation for that job -- and he ended up with five sacks and 46 tackles.
