Undated (KELO-AM) Governor Dennis Daugaard (R) officially announces his long expected re-election campaign in Sioux Falls next Tuesday. He then moves to news conferences in Rapid City and Pierre.
Daugaard says that in his first four years he held the line on taxes, created jobs and launched criminal justice reforms and new workplace initiatives.
Looks like Daugaard will have competition on the Republican side from Lora Hubbel, who has said Daugaard is not conservative enough. Two Democrats are running for governor: Susan Wismer and Joe Lowe.
Daugaard is way ahead of all other candidates in fund raising.
