Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Beginning on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, East Eighth Street will be closed from Fairfax Avenue to Sherman Avenue. Traffic will be detoured using Weber Avenue, Sixth Street, and Van Eps Avenue.
Cliff Avenue traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction at East Eighth Street. Work on Cliff Avenue is expected to be completed by mid-June.
The project will include utility replacement, new concrete paving, traffic signal replacement, and new streetlights. The intersection of Eighth Street and Cliff Avenue also will be realigned to create safer, more efficient traffic flow.
The completion date for the entire project is October 2014. Dakota Contracting of Sioux Falls is the prime contractor of this $841,000 project.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
