SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Storm) — The Sioux Falls Storm have signed former South Dakota State kicker Chase Vinatieri for the upcoming Indoor Football League season.
Vinatieri (6’2, 215) is entering his rookie season with the Storm. Chase played collegiately at South Dakota State University where he earned HERO Sports All-America First Team and All-Missouri Valley Football Conference Second Team honors in 2017. Chase is the Jackrabbits’ all-time leader in points by a kicker (362) and extra points made (221) and also ranks third in career field goals (47).
Chase is a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls. While at Roosevelt, Chase excelled both as a kicker and wide receiver. He earned All-State honors as a kicker as a junior and was a two-time Honorable Mention All-State honoree as a receiver.
“Chase is homegrown talent and is a kicker that has the talent to get a shot in the NFL,” Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs said in a release. “We feel like we can help Chase get that opportunity.”
