SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Rep. Dusty Johnson joined three dozen of his Republican peers in Congress to urge Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to finalize a Covid relief bill before Christmas.
In the letter also addressed to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the congressmen spoke on the urgency of the moment for most Americans feeling the socio-economic effects of the pandemic. Stating that a bill must be passed before the end of the year and that the way forward should be a bipartisan effort.
They believe the $908 billion emergency relief framework outlined by bipartisan efforts from House members and Senators can pass both Chambers and reach the presidents’ desk for approval.
