SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The first big snow storm of the season has left its mark on Sioux Falls.
According to the National Weather Service, the official total at the airport was 9.5 inches.
This breaks the record for the date as well as sits in the top 5 highest single day December snowfalls.
The City of Sioux falls is currently in a snow emergency, with the various zones being plowed throughout the day.
The snow may not last too long as above average temperatures are expected throughout next week.
