SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — January 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Governor Kristi Noem acknowledged the day on social media this morning saying, “Our law enforcement have faced incredible challenges the last few years. Today, on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, I want to thank every man & woman who puts on a badge and protects our communities. I also want our police to know South Dakota will always back the blue.”
Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken said about law enforcement officers “…They’ve answered a career calling to serve, to spend many night and weekends away from family, to face the uncertainty every single day, and to give of themselves so we can enjoy a safe and secure community…”
