SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — KELO.com News has finally been able to track down some details about the big law enforcement presence in south Sioux Falls late Wednesday morning.
A spokesman for Homeland Security Investigations, an arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, was conducting an operation.
The Sioux Falls Police and the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office were also involved.
There were numerous police vehicles in the area and even a helicopter flying over the neighborhood.
HSI says the investigation is ongoing, so they can’t release any further details.
They do say there is no threat to the public.
The HSI does cross-border investigations for the DHS.
