SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here’s your Monday morning sports update.
*Dmitry Kulikov scored the overtime winner just before the buzzer and Joel Eriksson Ek scored twice in a three-point outing.
They led visiting Minnesota to a 5 to 4 overtime victory over Nashville.
*Byron Buxton homered twice, including a walk-off, three-run blast to lift Minnesota to a win in 10 innings over visiting Chicago in Minneapolis.
Buxton’s 469-foot blast sealed the Twins’ fourth win in a row and completed a three-game sweep over Chicago.
*Ross Chastain took the lead near the checkered flag at Talladega Superspeedway to steal his second career NASCAR Cup Series victory.
Chastain simply stayed in line over the final few laps as leader Erik Jones and reigning Cup champion Kyle Larson fought for the win.
Chastain just pointed his Chevrolet straight, slipped past the leaders and won for the second time in five races.
*Duke freshman A.J. Griffin is heading to the NBA.
He becomes the fifth Blue Devil in the past week to declare early for the draft.
