SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Great Plains Zoo and Delbridge Museum of Natural History (GPZ) invites you to the most magical zoo day of the year – Zippity Zoo Day!
It all kicks off Saturday, June 25 at 9 am. The event ends at 4 pm (last event admission is 3 pm). Special event pricing is in effect – only $5 for zoo members! Skip the line and purchase tickets online at GreatZoo.org/Events/Zippity-Zoo-Day.
Zippity Zoo Events included with event admission are inflatables, yard games (including GIANT games with our friends at the Children’s Museum of SD), face painting, chalk in the plaza, watermelon breaks, zookeeper chats, Creature Features, bubbles, entertainment, and more!
Animal watermelon breaks will happen throughout the day, with a couple chances for guests to enjoy some refreshing watermelon, as well! Scheduled watermelon breaks:
10 am – Rhinos
11:30 am – Brown bears and people
1:30 pm – Galapagos tortoises and people
3 pm – Primates
Train and carousel rides, giraffe feeding, lunch at the Roar café and treats – including special banana split Dippin’ Dots and Icees – will also be available for purchase.

Be sure to check out the new Americas exhibit. Plus, our Komodo dragon, Natasha, is out for the season – and guests might even get a glimpse of our new bobcat, Bobby, whose exhibit opens soon!
