PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota Legislators will take another swing at Central Bank Digital Currency early next year. The issue led to the defeat of the South Dakota Bankers’ Association efforts to update the state’s Uniform Commercial Code. Bankers Association President Karl Adam says they’re two separate issues and shouldn’t be tied together.
Adam says the Bankers association is working on legislation to prohibit the State from accepting a central bank digital currency as a form of payment.
