SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Recycling rates in Sioux Falls are headed in reverse, and city officials are working to reverse the trend. Public Works Director Mark Cotter says city residents will save money in the long run by keeping recyclable items out of the city landfill.
Sustainability Coordinator Holly Meyer is charged with making it happen. She says the biggest challenge is avoid contaminating recyclables, including plastic bags.
Effective November 15th, Millenium Recycling will no longer accept recyclables that are in plastic bags.
