South Dakota (KELO.com) — SNAP benefits have been distributed in South Dakota, following a delay caused by the government shutdown. But that doesn’t mean the hunger problem is solved in the state. Team Buche Cares, the non-profit established by grocer Buche Foods, gave away about three hundred thousand dollars’ worth of Food Stamp replacement certificates during the shutdown. Now, the group is teaming up with Farmers Union Industries to distribute 10-thousand pounds of pork loin to rural and tribal communities across the state.
