South Dakota’s East River rifle deer season opened today. While most are hunting their deer legally, wildlife conservation officers are asking for help in a poaching case.
Thursday, Webster conservation officers were contacted by a landowner in Day County regarding a dead deer with its head cut off. The poached deer was left in a ditch north of Reetz Lake.
The office is asking anyone with information to call 1-888-OVERBAG.
A caller that provides information leading to an arrest is eligible for a reward.
