SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) – The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says we had a record-breaking day today as temps soared into, and past, the 60’s.
With a high temp of 68 degrees, Sioux Falls broke a record that had stood for 119 years. The previous high temp record was 60 degrees and set in 1902.
While many places south of Watertown saw highs in the 60’s, some spots in southern South Dakota saw temperatures reach into the 70’s.
Temperatures in Yankton reached 71 degrees, which ties the previous record set in 1974.
Cooler weather returns tomorrow and will last through the holiday.
