OTTAWA (Reuters) – The Canadian economy expanded by 4.5% in May as businesses across the country began reopening from coronavirus shutdowns, Statistics Canada said on Friday.
The goods-producing sector posted a 8.0% increase, while the service-producing sector grew by 3.4%. Seventeen of the 20 industrial sectors posted increases in May, StatsCan said.
