ROBERTS COUNTY, S.D. (KELO.com) — Rescuing the stranded. Codington County Search & Rescue retrieved four people from Friday’s winter weather. The Roberts County Sheriff’s Office made several attempts to reach one stranded driver who’s vehicle had died and was without heat. Responders communicating with the driver recognized symptoms of potential hypothermia and called in Codington County Search & Rescue to assist. They were able to reach the driver who had taken secondary roads trying to get to Fargo after the interstate closed. That person did not have proper cold weather apparel or an emergency kit in their vehicle.
