SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — They called it “Operation Grover”, and the goal was to take down speeders in Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls Police, the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office and the South Dakota Highway Patrol partnered up to target exhibition drivers throughout the city.

Authorities issued a total of 90 citations during the operation, which lasted from 7 p.m. on Friday through 3 a.m. on Saturday.
5 of the tickets issued were for speeding 26 miles per hour or more over the speed limit.
In total, 47 citations were issued for speeding, 5 drivers were cited for exhibition driving, 14 were cited for no seatbelt, and 5 were arrested for DWI.
Siebenborn says they’ll conduct similar operations throughout the summer months to curb exhibition driving within city limits.
