CANTON, SD (KELO.com) — Lincoln County opponents to Carbon Capture pipelines went before the County Planning and Zoning Commission this morning. They presented a proposed pipeline zoning ordinance. State Representative Karla Lems of Canton is part of the group. She says they’re frustrated the County Commission failed to pass an ordinance in two attempts.
County Commissioner Jim Schmidt also expressed frustration that attempts to pass an ordinance have come up empty.
The group is proposing a safety setback zone of 18-hundred, 55-feet between property lines and the proposed pipelines.
