SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls Police Department is making a special plea for the public’s help against what’s called dangerous panhandling.
Public begging for money is not illegal, but you can’t obstruct roads or be aggressive.
Lt. Nick Clark came to the daily police briefing Thursday to ask citizens that if they see any of this kind of behavior to please let the police know about.
Clark also recommended that you don’t give money to a panhandler because he may very well be using it for drugs or alcohol. Instead give the money to a charitable organization in town that provides food, shelter, and other help.
The police say that panhandling has “drastically” increased in Sioux Falls.
