Eastern South Dakota (KELO.com) — Bird flu arrived early in South Dakota this fall and its devastating turkey flocks. Eight commercial flocks and a backyard flock in eastern South Dakota were hit. More than 400-thousand turkeys have been destroyed as a result. However, the US Poultry industry is strong, producing mor than 218-million turkeys annually.
