BIG STONE CITY, SD (KELO.com) — Big Stone City is about to become home to one of the largest thermal energy storage systems in the world. It’s a joint project between POET Biofuels and Antora Energy, a leading energy storage company based in California. It will provide a reliable source of energy for POET to operate its ethanol plant at Big Stone City, by storing low-cost, off-peak energy from wind turbines in the area.
