SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls police are searching for a man who nearly struck an officer with his car. The officer was responding to a handicapped parking violation report at a business near 12th and Kiwanis shortly before 9pm Wednesday night.
Information officer Aaron Benson says the driver didn’t produce a handicapped parking tag when asked, and also said he didn’t have his drivers license with him. When the officer asked him to identify himself the driver put the car in reverse and nearly hit the officer. His vehicle struck the police squad car, then drove off at a high rate of speed.
Sgt. Benson says the suspect was driving a White Acura. He’s described as an African/American man in his 20’s. The officer was not injured.
