The New York Mets placed right-hander Devin Williams on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder strain and recalled right-hander Jonathan Pintaro from Triple-A Syracuse.
Williams, 31, is 3-2 with 16 saves and a 4.66 ERA in 42 relief appearances this season, his first with the Mets. His IL move is retroactive to Saturday.
Over eight career seasons, Williams is 34-18 with 102 saves and a 2.70 ERA in 350 relief appearances for the Milwaukee Brewers (2019-24), New York Yankees (2025) and Mets.
Pintaro 28, has a 4.40 ERA in six relief appearances for the Mets this season. He made his major league debut with New York last season and appeared in one game.
