Heads up, Northwest Sioux Falls: On October 14, from noon to 5 p.m., the City will be conducting pressure and fire‑flow testing for the Lewis & Clark third‑connection project. This work is part of a long‑planned effort to improve the reliability and resiliency of our community’s water system.
As we prepare to bring the new Lewis & Clark third connection online, crews will temporarily take the Benson Road Lewis & Clark connection out of service for testing.
What residents should know:
The simulation involves isolating the Benson Road Lewis & Clark connection and conducting fire‑flow testing. The results will be reviewed by the Fire Department and the hydraulic modeler prior to the anticipated mid‑November construction phase of the third connection.
Some properties in the area may experience a temporary pressure reduction of approximately 12 psi during testing.
Water quality will not be affected. Your water will remain safe to use.
This project will ultimately strengthen the City’s long‑term water reliability and support continued growth across the community. Thank you for your patience as we take this important step in the process.
