WEBSTER, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Webster police officer is credited with life-saving efforts during a call in last week’s blizzard.

Collins himself became partially submerged during the rescue attempt when he too fell through the ice and into the freezing water.
He was able to get himself back on top of the ice and help the semi driver to safety until ambulance crews arrived.
Both Collins and the semi driver were taken to Sanford Webster to be checked out and were released that morning.
