SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation gets a perfect score from a national park accreditation agency, but it’s getting some push back from at least one City Council member. Parks and Rec is seeking public input and city approval for its new five year master plan, which includes major upgrades at The Falls. Parks and Rec planner Mike Patten recently told city council members nothing had been budgeted yet. He says it is a long term plan and trying to estimate costs prior to knowing when each feature might be added is premature. City Councilor Curt Soehl says he likes some of the plans, but is concerned about cost. He says without estimates he will vote against the Master Plan adoption. Parks and Rec will hold its final public informational meeting January 14th, and will seek approval from the parks Board a week later, and will then ask for approval from the city council in early February.
