SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — They’re pushing for change in the state’s parole and probation system. Minnehaha County Sheriff Mike Milstead was disappointed with a lack of action by this year’s legislature.
Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum says although it isn’t popular to say in South Dakota, making improvements is going to require spending money.
Appearing on the Greg Belfrage show, Thum and Milstead said solutions can’t wait for the new men’s prison to be built. The prison isn’t expected to open until 2029.
