A former tribal official and his wife have been indicted on charges of distributing fentanyl in Rapid City and on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Investigators say Misty Standing Bear and Mason Big Crow were actively trafficking the deadly drug as recently as this May. They were planning to transport over a thousand pills from Colorado, allegedly using tribal funds to make their purchase. They face up to life in prison and a maximum fine of ten-million dollars if they’re convicted.
