SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — An 88-year old Sioux Falls man has been bilked out of $40-thousand in an online scam. Information Officer Aaron Benson says, “The victim reported receiving a message on his computer indicating a security issue. He was then later called and told there was an issue with his bank account, and that the bank account had been hacked. He was given instructions to withdraw $20-thousand on two separate occasions. This happened at the end of May.” After withdrawing the money, the victim was told where to take the cash. Sgt. Benson says the investigation is ongoing.
