SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Two men are under arrest as Sioux Falls police investigate a pair of shootings on Duluth Avenue on Wednesday. 18-year old David VonEye, Jr. shot at a victim, who was not struck. An investigation later determined a nearby apartment window was damaged by the bullet. VonEye was charged with aggravated assault and fleeing police.
Earlier on Wednesday, Police Sgt. Cole German says residents reported that a neighbor had been shot, and the suspect had fled the scene. “The victim was identified as a 51-year old Sioux Falls resident. He was shot multiple times. Officers provided medical aid and summoned an ambulance to the scene.” The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
37-year old Querreterrion Payne is charged with attempted murder in that shooting. Payne was on parole at the time and faces several other charges as well.
