SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Uncle Ed Munce has passed away.
Ed and his son Matt started Uncle Ed’s Specialty Meats in 2001.
Long before Uncle Ed’s, Mr. Munce served the country with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam during 1968–69.
After leaving the military he dedicated the rest of his life to his family, his community, and building something his family could be proud of.
In a Facebook Post, his son Matt said “Everything this business stands for—hard work, honesty, quality, treating people like family, and doing things the right way—came from him. Those weren’t just words to my dad. They were the way he lived his life. To everyone who has supported Uncle Ed’s over the years, thank you. You became more than customers to my dad—you became friends. He loved seeing familiar faces walk through our doors, sharing stories, and taking care of people.”
Matt has vowed to continue the business in honor of his father.
