SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – A Parker man must serve 27 months in federal prison for escaping a halfway house.
Michael Sherard was indicted in May and pleaded guilty in June of escaping the halfway house in Sioux Falls.
He was serving a felony sentence of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and transfered to the halfway house in January.
In April, he left the facility to go to work but never returned.
He was eventually arrested again in Sioux Falls and charged with a new possession offense along with the escape charges.
