SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The South Dakota Department of Social Services and the Helpline Center are celebrating their first year of service with the 988 Line.
Helpline’s Janet Kitams says the line is intended to provide help for those experiencing an emotional crisis. “It’s important to draw attention to the phone number, just so people recognize that they can call, text or chat 988 24 hours a day with any type of mental health concern.”
Helpline has provided help to people from all of South Dakota’s 66 Counties.
